Derby Re-modelling July-Oct 2018

The following pictures  show progress at and around Derby station as the trackwork and signalling is being  completely renewed and re-modelled to improve the operational performance of the station.

During the later phase of the works the Matlock services were replaced by buses, and the opportunity to carry out other work at stations and on the track on the branch was taken and some photos show this work.

Here's a diagram showing the present and future track layouts (courtesy of Rail Engineer magazine - July 2018)
