12, 22 May and 4 June 2011 - Steaming Through the Derwent Valley

There will another railtour (not necessarily steam) calling at Derwent Valley stations on Wednesday 21st September 2011 when the 'Settle & Cumbrian Coast Explorer'  stops at Belper (dep 07 20, ret 21 15) and Duffield (dep 0730, ret 21 10) en route from Chesterfield to Carlisle.


Gresley A4 Pacific 60019 'Bittern' disguised as 4492 'Dominion of New Zealand' in Garter Blue heads south over the A6 at Ambergate on the outward leg of the 'William Shakespeare' from York to Stratford upon Avon on Thursday 12th May.

Stanier Princess Royal Pacific 6201 'Princess Elizabeth' steams north at Broadholme, Belper on the outward leg of the 'Yorkshire Coronation' from Sheffield, via Derby to Scarborough on Sunday 22nd May


Finally, Great Western Castle Class No.5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' at the same location above, and through the cuttings at Belper below, hauling the north-bound 'Scarborough Flyer' from Tyseley to that east coast resort on Saturday 4th June.
