The Friends of the Derwent Valley Line and the DV Community Rail Partnership have worked with East Midlands Trains to get an additional morning peak service introduced from Ambergate to Derby in the new timetable commencing Monday 12th December. The additional service will start from Ambergate at 0656, calling at Belper 0701, Duffield 0705 and arriving Derby 0713. This new train service will also provide good connections at Derby with the 07.20 to Leicester and London St. Pancras, 07.27 to Birmingham New Street and 07.33 to Nottingham. Read EMT Press Release
FDVL welcomes this addition to the timetable, which is a step towards restoring the third peak hour service on the branch which existed under the previous franchise. We will continue to explore ways with EMT in which this service can be fully restored from Matlock. |
