2 Dec 09 - Railway Heritage Awards for Cromford Station

Cromford Station achieved a double success at the 2009 Railway Heritage Awards held at the Merchant Taylors Hall on 2nd December, when it won both the Station Building Award & the Waiting Room Award.

The picture above shows Dr Christopher Charlton (centre left), architect George Jones (centre right) and project manager Peter Bowler (right) receiving the Station Building award on behalf of the Arkwright Society. together with Robin Lumb of Friends of the Derwent Valley Line.

The view left shows Cromford Station Building on its official reopening by the Duke of Devonshire in May 2009.
