The Friends of the Derwent Valley Line
The 1050 Derby-Matlock arriving at Cromford on Thursday 28th May carrying the special party to open the Cromford Station and Waiting Room after their recent refurbishment.

The opening ceremony was carried out by the Duke of Devonshire (centre), accompanied by Sir William McAlpine, Chairman of the Railway Heritage Trust (left) and Chairman of the Arkwright Society (second right)
The main Cromford Station buildings have been converted into office accommodation by the Arkwright Society, with support from the Railway Heritage Trust. The building will also act as an entry portal into the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site
The upside waiting room has been converted into holiday accomodation by the owners of the Cromford Station House, Tim Collis and Ryan Phelps, Further details on their site at www.cromfordstationwaitingroom.co.uk
After the opening ceremony, the party adjourned to the nearby Cromford Mill for lunch and further speeches, rounded off by an announcement by East Midlands Trains of the long-awaited all-stations stopping service from December 2009.
